Caltrans Plans Ramp Closures

Caltrans has begun a series of overnight on and off ramp closures as they work to maintain safety to the traveling public.

“Travelers,” reads a news release from Caltrans Dist. 5, “will encounter full overnight closures of several on and off-ramps in San Luis Obispo County beginning Monday, July 13.

“The closures will take place at different on and off-ramps along Highway 1 and US 101 from 7:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. The locations on Hwy 1 are:

• South Bay Boulevard Morro Bay northbound and southbound off-ramps;

• Morro Bay Blvd. MB northbound and southbound off-ramps;

• Main Street MB northbound and southbound off-ramps;

• San Jacinto St. MB Intersection northbound and southbound off-ramps;

• Yerba Buena St. MB Intersection northbound and southbound off-ramps;

• Old Creek Road/Studio Dr. Cayucos Intersection northbound and southbound off-ramps;

13th St. Cayucos northbound and southbound off-ramp;

• Cayucos Dr. Cayucos northbound and southbound off-ramps; and,

• Highway 41 Morro Bay northbound and southbound off-ramps.

Hwy 101:

• Prado Rd. San Luis Obispo northbound off-ramp; and,

• Madonna Rd. SLO northbound off-ramp and southbound on and off-ramps.

Crews will be removing existing ramp striping and replacing the delineation configurations, according to Caltrans.

Drivers should be on the lookout for potential ramp closures when driving at night. The work is expected to be completed by Aug. 7.
