The race for Cambria’s honorary Mayor concluded at the Mayor’s Ball on Saturday, Sept 5 at the Barn at Fog’s End in Cambria.
Four candidates were competing for the title and the winner, Del Clegg, was announced during the Pinedorado Days weekend festivities.
In this election, every vote costs $1 and the voting was happening as often as possible during the evening and during final stump speeches…. What a heart stopping night!

There was live music from the 16-piece Vineyard Jazz Big Band, featuring great swing era sounds of the mid -20th century. A dance floor was available and many couples enjoyed “cutting the rug” into the wee hours of the night! Guests were encouraged to wear formal attire inspired by the 1920’s -1940’s, and handsome couples were dressed to the “nines”! The candidates were running on the platform of non profit organizations that benefited financially from the “votes” they received… every candidate earned money for their designated 501 group and will be awarding a check next week in recognition photos.
The candidates: Jim Bahringer- American Legion Post 432; Dianne “Lady Tie Di” Brooke- Cambria PTA; Del Clegg, Rotary Club of Cambria; and Barrett Stuart- Cambria Tennis Club. The special and amazing event was attended by 89 happy residents and family!
