Filipino Community Association Crowns Royal Court

The Bay Osos Filipino Community Association celebrated their Annual Fiesta Coronation to a sold-out audience honoring the 2025 Royal Court and welcoming guests from as far away as Hawaii. 

On Saturday April 26 at the South Bay Community Center under the direction of

President Albert R. Calizo and co-chairperson Dr. Kathy Gaoiran, the 2025 court was named featuring Fiesta Queen Dionicia Manuel of Los Osos, 1st Princess Jocelyn Dekocker of Atascadero and 2nd Princess Fely Quines of San Diego.

The event was also a farewell to the 2024 Royal Court: Fiesta Queen Evelyn Gaoiran of Livermore, 1st  Princess Iluminada Plunkett of Los Osos, 2nd Princess Mona McKelby of Los Osos(proxy) Tahana Jara.

Four “ Isang Puso” (One Heart) awards were presented for outstanding Loyalty and Service for making a difference in our community through leadership and loyalty to the association. Honored were Cris Rodriguez, Angelita and Regino Manuel, Luz and Fidel Caluya and Andy and Linda dela Cruz.

The Family of the Year also known as “Uliran Award” for fulfilling the American Dream was presented to Candida Salvador of Grover Beach. Her children and grandchildren are living her dreams of success

The guest speaker was Dean Sullivan, publisher of Estero Bay News, who provided a history of his career. Music was provided by DJ Fred Yasay, entertainment was provided by the Social Club of Santa Maria, BOFCA dancers, and singer Rene Estrada. Floral Decorations were created by Mark Luna. Scholarships will be awarded on July 19th from the fundraising generated by the Royal Court.
