Jerry Lundstrom celebrated a milestone many never see — he turned 100- years-old on July 18.
Friends and family gathered at his home in Los Osos to celebrate the big day.
Jerry is an avid cyclist and, up until a recent fall in is home, rides with his group of friends weekly. SLO Bike Club recently awarded him their Presidents Award. He’s struggled the past 4-5 weeks after the fall that displaced four ribs and broke his scapula, but friends say he is convalescing well.
“We expect him home permanently within the week,” said friend Krin Gray. “He is quite the guy — a local legend.”

Jerry and his late wife, Pjete, grew up in the Hollywood and Santa Monica area. They moved locally when Jerry, a Caltrans engineer, retired in his early 50s. They had the round house on 13th St. for a bit then built their home on Santa Ysabel. Both were artists and they opened 10 Directions Art Studio and curated local and far-flung art and artists for a number of years.
