The City of Morro Bay has started a project to replace a major sewer lift station and warns that it will have to detour folks away from a major bike/pedestrian path in The Cloisters.
The project to replace Lift Sta. 1 began Oct. 29 and will include intermittent detours off the Cloisters Bike Path, as it runs from the High School bike path along the eastern edge of Cloisters along Hwy 1. The detour will take people and riders into the neighborhood at Emerald Cr. It proceeds right on Emerald up to Coral Drive, where it heads north to San Jacinto Street.
The project will install a new force sewer main under Hwy 1 and requires horizontal, directional drilling. The project is expected to be completed in 30 days, so some time around Dec. 12, subject to weather and any unforeseen complications.
