The San Luis Coastal Unified School District is selling the Sunnyside School site as surplus property. The Los Osos Community Service District (LOCSD) and the county are considering acquiring the site to enhance community parks and services in Los Osos.
The LOCSD, along with the Los Osos Community Advisory Board (LOCAC), have been working with active recreational groups for the past one and a half years to determine the needs for active recreation in Los Osos.
The 12-acre Sunnyside School site could host many different community amenities – playing fields and other active recreation, open space, as well as buildings to meet various community needs. With the SLCUSD interested in selling the property, it is time for the community to express its interest.
On March 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Sunnyside School auditorium, the Wallace Group will present some concept plans and costs for the property, ranging from minimal improvements to more elaborate recreational and community amenities.
The meeting is facilitated by the LOCSD, Supervisor Bruce Gibson, the Los Osos Community Advisory Council, and the Wallace Group.
