Anthony Patrick “Pat” Mueting passed away July 22 at his home in Morro Bay at age 62.
Pat was born and raised in San Luis Obispo County, enjoying his younger years in Avila Beach then off to the big city of SLO.
Being from Avila, of course he took up surfing and traveled the West Coast finding good waves, camping out in his VW Vanagon licensed 4SURFUN.
Enjoying camping, he also started gold panning and spent many stays at Plaskett Creek searching for those elusive yellow specks.
Pat retired from SLO County Parks where he maintained pools and used his creative skills doing woodworking repairs as needed, then worked a few days a week for the City of Morro Bay along the embarcadero before full retirement.
He and his now former wife Ginger lived at Morro Dunes where she worked, which made it easy to walk the few steps and be on the beach with a grand view of Morro Rock and spectacular sunsets.
Pat is survived by parents Judy and Jerry, siblings Paul (Tammie), Phil, Shelley (True) Bright, his great nephew Korden, his uncle Mitch Laing, and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Sept. 13. on the Embarcadero of Morro Bay. Friends wishing to remember and celebrate Pat are asked to meet at the parking lot at the south end of Embarcadero at 10 a.m.
