John Taylor, 73, left this world last month due to liver cancer. He was the much loved brother of Dena and Terry (Liz), and the adored uncle to his nieces, nephews, and their children. He was predeceased by his parents Anne and Martin Taylor.
John was smart, funny, well-read, extremely thoughtful, a fabulous cook, an artist, woodworker, leather craftsman, and an all-around great guy. He loved history, politics, music, clocks, his family, his cat Electra, and he collected books and miniature objects. His wit, philosophizing, and laughter leave a hole for those who loved him.
Born in San Francisco and raised in the San Jose area, he attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and loved the area so much that he happily lived out his life in Los Osos. John retired from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles as a Driver Safety Officer.
There will be a celebration of John Taylor’s life in Los Osos on October 13. Email Dena at detaylor@cabrillo.edu for more information. As a tribute to John, and something he would enthusiastically support, please vote this November!
