No on A-24 is not Paid by Vistra

I am writing in response to Pat Johnson’s letter in the Estero Bay News (Vol. 6, Issue 18). The writer claims that Vistra is funding and running the anti-24 campaign. That is not true. The No on A-24 campaign is funded by local concerned Morro Bay citizens and business owners and has no connection to Vistra. We have not taken any money from Vistra and will not in the future.

The No on A-24 campaign does not take a position on the battery project: we are neither for it nor against it. We simply believe that A-24 is a bad policy change that would have bad unintended consequences for the City. It would tie the hands of our elected officials. They would be unable to respond to developers’ proposals short of a time-consuming and costly citizens’ initiative campaign to decide what is often a complex issue.
