Thousands of people turned out May 7-8 for the Annual Show ‘n Shine Morro Bay Car Show, making its triumphant return since the Coronavirus Pandemic response cancelled the show in 2020 and 2021. Some 500 cars were signed up to attend, and though at least one hot rod owner found out the hard way not to park under the Downtown street trees during bird nesting season, it was otherwise a great event. Highlights included a stock, 1981 De Lorean that wasn’t tricked out to look like the Back to the Future time machine, and custom, 3-wheel motorcycles owned by the local chief of police and a retired MBPD sergeant. The event mixed the regular car show in with an emergency vehicle show, as vintage cop cars and fire trucks joined the hot rodders in the cruise on Friday and the show Saturday and Sunday.
