Morro Bay’s Active Adults (a senior citizens’ organization) is hosting a free concert series at Tidelands Park in Morro Bay. The “Tunes at Tidelands” concert series begins Sept. 7 and runs every Thursday in September (Sept. 7, 14th, 21st and 28th). Music plays from 5-7 p.m. and features the bands Unfinished Business, Shameless, Riff Tide and Back Pages Band.

Bring a folding chair to sit on or a blanket to sit on the grass at Tidelands Park.

Also, the Buttercup Bakery, 430 Morro Bay Blvd., has a free concert series that started Thursday, Aug. 17 with the Cliffnotes, and continues Aug. 24 with Jill Knight; Aug. 31 with IMUA; Sept. 7 with Murder Hornets; Sept. 14 with B & the Hive; Sept. 21 with The Taproots; and Sept. 28 with Mark Adams Band.

Admission is free and Buttercup is a great place to grab a bite to eat and drink. Shows run from 5-8 p.m. Make a reservation online at: www.my805tix.com/?q=buttercup and get a discount on drinks (and assure yourself a seat).

And down at Marina Square, the Savory Palette wine bar has Open Mic night every Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. Savory Palette is open Tuesdays-Saturdays with tastings on Wednesdays-Fridays. Savory Palette is located in Marina Square, 601 Embarcadero Ste. 5.

If readers are looking for something a little rowdier, The Siren in Downtown Morro Bay is the place to be, with live shows most nights including touring bands and local favorites. See: thesirenmorrobay.com/events/2023-09 for a schedule and links to where tickets are available.
