Calvary Lutheran Church in Morro Bay is launching a weekly Zoom discussion group on the hit television series “The Chosen” starting on Sunday, January 19, 6 to 7 p.m. This depiction of the life of Jesus and his followers has created a great stir for its moving portrayals of Biblical persons and events.
Participants will watch episodes on their own time and then will gather online to discuss reactions, impacts and wonderings about the most recent episode. The series is available for free viewing on various online platforms. We will start with Season 1, Episode 1, and proceed sequentially, meeting most Sundays until we finish the available episodes. The hosts are Lutheran pastors Brian and Mary Stein-Webber.
You do not need to be part of any congregation or faith group to participate and can join in after the initial meeting on Jan. 19. All participants will be respected and welcomed. Anyone with questions should contact Pastor Brian at bsteinwebber@gmail.com or 925-285-7256. The group size will be limited to 25 persons/screens.
