Art Center Morro Bay, 835 Main St., Morro Bay presents Media Arts with Robert Styles July 23, 24, and 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This workshop is available for students going into grades 6-12. Over three days, students will learn about the basics of video production, and they will walk away having made at least one video.

Students will learn pre-production (storyboarding & planning), production (acquiring the footage), and post-production (editing the video into its final format). During the camp, students will receive peer feedback from each other, as well as feedback from the class instructor.

Students need to bring a smartphone with them with enough storage space for them to film their videos. Alternately, students may also bring their own camera and computer to film and edit on if they’d like.

The cost is $120. For more information or to register, go to at artcentermorrobay.org. They can be reached at 805-772-2504.

SLO Concerts in the Plaza on Friday, July 19, features opener Emily Smith at 5 p.m. and The Molly Ringwald Project from 6 to 8 p.m. Event is free.

Step into a time machine and get ready to blast back to the totally rad era of the 80s with The Molly Ringwald Project! Hailing from California’s Central Coast, this outrageously hilarious band is here to tickle your funny bone and transport you back to a time of big hair, neon spandex, and iconic music.

Emily Smith is a breath of fresh air, and her voice is often likened to a melodic blend of Sheryl Crow and Colbie Caillat. She brightens the atmosphere with her soulful, feel-good music of all genres. Hailing from the Central Coast Wine Region in Paso Robles, California, Emily has established herself as a must‐see singer/songwriter acoustic duo act.

She has recently debuted her new album, which features songs she has written for film and television, including multiple placements on the acclaimed soap opera The Young & The Restless and the Netflix series Sweet Magnolias.
