Fire Destroys Baywood Home

Fire partially destroyed a Los Osos home, but there were no reported injuries to firefighters or residents.

According to Cal Fire/County Fire, the fire was reported a little after 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at a home in the 600 block of Santa Lucia Ave., which is near the Audubon Overlook spot in Baywood Park, according to a news report.

The home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters from Station 15 (South Bay Firehouse) arrived. It took until 11:03 a.m. to extinguish the fire. The cause was being investigated.

In the photo taken by Baywood resident Nancy Schreiber, flames can be seen shooting into the air from her vantage point on the east side of Second Street.
