Another Trip Around the Sun.
I have to say, 2025 had its moments — some good, some not so good.
In June, I lost my uncle at 96, a man who meant a great deal to me. In August, I lost my mother, just three months short of her 100th birthday. She meant the world to me. I understand this is part of the ride we are all on, but that doesn’t make it any easier, especially around the holidays.
But with the bad, there was also the good — the yin to the yang. I am told all the time how much people enjoy reading the newspaper, and I have to be honest, it means so much to me. It’s one thing to have a business you put your heart and soul into; it’s another to hear how much it matters to so many people and how important it is to the communities we live in. I do not take that lightly.
Theresa Marie Wilson—also known as T—and Neil Farrell are the backbone of the paper. They both work incredibly hard to bring you news that impacts us, excites us, and keeps us informed. I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication to this publication.
We also could not do this without community input. To all the service organizations, clubs, and groups who send us press releases and story ideas, thank you. We can’t do it alone, so please keep sending us your stories and ideas.
And last, but not least, our advertisers. Without them, we would not be able to put this publication together. I started The Bay News in 1989, and I still have advertisers who have been with me since the beginning. I’m also contacted by new businesses who see the paper and want to be part of it. To all of you, thank you for your continued support.
If you see an advertiser in the paper, please let them know you saw their ad and thank them for supporting community news.
Have a wonderful holiday season, and I hope that 2026 brings joy and prosperity to all.
