David Nemetz passed away peacefully in his home in Baywood Park on September 11, 2024. He was 67-years old.

Dave was a deckhand on commercial fishing boats up and down the west coast, from Washington State down into Mexico, for almost 30 years. He was also a great cook, worked in high-end restaurants in San Francisco and Morro Bay, and loved to cook for his friends.

Dave lived in Morro Bay and Los Osos for over 40 years. When his boat came into Morro Bay in 1983 from San Pedro, he fell in love with the place and never left. He was a well-known figure on the waterfront and was known to many as “One Trip Dave”.

He is survived by his life partner of almost 30 years, Julie Wagner, and his many friends. He will be sorely missed.

If you are one of those friends, please join us as we gather to remember Dave at Sea Pines Golf Resort in Los Osos on Monday, September 30, from 3 to 7 p.m.
