In response to “Addis on President Biden…”, [News Briefs Vol. 6, Issue 16] Dawn Addis stated, President Biden has “left an indelible mark on our country by rebuilding America’s economic strength, …and restoring our values of fairness, decency and democracy.”
I would ask, what economic strength? This means nothing to the family that is struggling to buy groceries, gas and still make their mortgage or rent payment. The price of gas in Cali was as low as $2.69/gal before the pandemic hit. Biden brought it as high as $6.04/gal in 2022 and now it hovers at $5.00/gal (GasBuddy). Claiming economic growth post the pandemic downturn is a weak grab and deceptive.
Is it “fairness” to burden American taxpayers with supporting the over 10 million people who have illegally entered the USA since President Biden took office in 2021?
Is restoring “decency” holding destructive protests against Jewish people resulting in the cancelling of university graduation services?
Is restoring “democracy” discovering, during a televised debate, that the President you elected is unable to execute the duties required of his position and the people around him have been lying to us? We really do not know who is making critical decisions that under our democratic rules belong to our President.
Dawn Addis deceived us regarding the Vistra M.O.U. and is still lying. She said it would be a good thing to have the World’s largest BESS in Morro Bay. But in reality, it means we could have the World’s largest lithium battery fire and toxin release in Morro Bay. She made a BIG mistake, and we deserve an apology.
