With the fall sports season all but done, the Morro Bay High Athletic Booster’s Club has named the Athletes of the Month for November, 2024, and both are from the Cross Country Team.
“This month,” reads the Booster Club’s announcement, “the MBHS Athletic Boosters would like to congratulate Cross Country Runners Wendy Wilson and Abe Gade.”
Cross Country
Pirates Cross Country Coach, Jennifer Frere praised her student/athletes. “Wendy Wilson, sophomore, has been solid up front for the Pirates all season,” she said. “She attends every practice ready to do what it takes and is a leader for her team. Wendy earned All-League honors in the Mountain League, finishing 12th at League Finals at the Fairbanks Cross Country Course
Sophomore, Gade, “has consistently been a top runner for the boys Varsity Team this year,” Coach Frere said. “He has made huge gains in strength and speed this season. He never misses a practice, is always smiling and pushes his team to do better.”
December marks the traditional switchover to Winter Sports season, which includes boys and girls basketball, soccer and wrestling.
As always, Estero Bay News congratulates the Athletes of the Month for November 2024 and says congratulations to all the kids in all the various sports from the fall season.
