Movie fans gathered in San Luis Obispo on Hollywood’s most glamorous night to celebrate the movies, meet a genuine scream queen and raise money for a local gay support organization.
Sunday, March 15, the United Christ of Christ in SLO hosted an Oscar Viewing Party, organized by Los Osos businessman Sabin Gray, who owned and operated the Hooray for Hollywood store on Morro Bay’s Embarcadero and is a big movie fan and collector of Hollywood memorabilia.

Scream Queen actress Brinke Stevens attended the event bringing a little Hollywood glamour to the festivities benefitting the GALA Pride & Diversity Center in SLO.

Over 50 church and GALA members got all dressed up to walk the red carpet, flash bulbs lighting up the procession, just like at the real Oscars.
Guests were treated to a fancy dinner prepared by chef Bryan Gerber with desserts provided by local businesses. But the main event was the Oscars telecast.

Stevens, the star of 1982’s “Slumber Party Massacre,” 1988’s “Nightmare Sisters,” and over 300 B horror movies posed for photos with attendees and was presented with a special award for “Fan Favorite.”
