Dr. Christiane Schroeter signed copies of her new book, “Petite Practice: Small, Steady Steps to a Life of Momentum and Real Change,” at Salty Pages in Cambria on Saturday, Sept. 5 during Pinedorado weekend.
Salty Pages opened on Main Street in March, and owner Julie Saunders said at the time that she hoped to connect with the authors and poets living along our part of the coast. Schroeter, who has lived on the Central Coast for 20 years, finally decided, after five months, to walk into the shop in August, the day before her new book was released. Three weeks later, Saunders offered her the store for a signing.
“Petite Practice” is Schroeter’s fifth book. A behavioral economist and professor at Cal Poly, she has spent two decades researching why people who know exactly what to do still don’t do it. Her answer is that the “step is almost always smaller than we think, and we postpone it anyway.”
The book is available on Amazon in hardcover, paperback, and Kindle, and signed copies will be on the shelf at Salty Pages, 2024 Main St., Cambria. Photo submitted
