Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a Halloween Night shooting of a Shandon teenager, who they found laying in the street bleeding from a single gunshot to the stomach.

According to an Oct. 31 news release, deputies were called at about 10 p.m. to the 200 block of Camatti St., in Shandon after someone reported hearing shots fired.

“When Deputies arrived,” Sheriff’s spokesman Tony Cipolla said in a news release, “they discovered a 15-year-old male in the street with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim was alert and talking.”

Deputies administered first aid to the boy and he was airlifted by helicopter to an area hospital. He was listed in stable condition, according to Cipolla.

“Detectives believe,” Cipolla said, “the shooting was an isolated incident and are investigating to determine if this incident was gang related.”

Detectives have no description of any suspects in the case and are asking anyone that has information on the attempted murder, to call Sheriff’s detectives at 805-781-4500.
