The Cambria Rotary received honors for best club of its size within its district.

Rotary District 5240 consists of almost 3,000 members in 70 Rotary clubs. The District spans four counties in Central California – San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County, Ventura County, and Kern County – as well as a Chapter Club based in Guatemala and a Young Professionals Satellite Club in Westlake Village.

At the end of each Rotary year, District 5240 recognizes the accomplishments of clubs that excel during the Club’s year in all aspects of Rotary, including community and international service, youth and peace programs and fellowship activities.

The Cambria Rotary was selected as the best medium-sized club (membership of 36-70) in District 5240 for 2021-22. The award was presented to past president Jane Howard at the award ceremony on June 25.

“We made a difference in our community and around the world while enjoying lasting friendships and having an awful lot of fun,” said Rotary member Sue Robinson. “Kudos to Co-Presidents Patty Griffin, Christel Chesney and Linda Sherman for leading our club to a successful year despite the obstacles created by COVID.”
