Community members and family gathered to sing and celebrate the graduates of the 200-hour Sound Energy Yoga Teacher Training program at Let’s Get Tuned in Morro Bay.

The training spanned 10 full weekends over the course of 10 months starting in March. Graduates spent their time not only learning the physical practice of yoga and how to teach it safely and skillfully but also studying the philosophy, history and meditative aspects of yoga, which also includes sound healing.

In this celebratory event, that was free and open to all, graduates shared reflections on their learning journey in addition to guiding the participants in some mindful breathing exercises, call and response singing and a sound bath. Fun and relaxation were had by all.

Graduates of the 2024 program include therapists, dietitians, musicians, artists and working professionals. Some will go on to teach yoga and sound baths, while others will incorporate their new knowledge into their existing professions to expand and enrich their offerings.

When asked what their favorite part of the training was, the answer shared by all was the “community of peers and the unexpected deep transformations that each person went through as a result of looking inward.” Yoga, after all, is not just a physical practice, rather an invitation to look more deeply into oneself. The next training at Let’s Get Tuned starts in Spring 2025, find out more at www.letsgettuned.com.
