Cayucos businesswoman, Sherry PeckHoon Sim of the Rotary Club of Cayucos has been selected as the 2024-2025 District Governor for District 5240 of Rotary International. Sim is a founding member of the Cayucos Rotary Club, which became chartered in March 2008with 22 men and women representing a wide cross-section of local businesses and professions.
A real estate professional by trade, Sim and the Cayucos Rotary Club have made a big impact on the community. Club members enjoy fellowship, meals, and interesting and informative programs dealing with topics of local and global importance. Member fellowship includes many social and community service events that include beach cleanups, fundraisers like the annual Marked Ball raising scholarships for young people, supporting Cayucos School and more.
The Cayucos club is a member of Rotary District 5240, which is comprised of 71 clubs and over 3,000 members located throughout the Kern County, San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County, Ventura County, and a small portion of Los Angeles County.
Cayucos Rotary meets the first Thursday of the month at 8 a.m. and the third Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are at Luna’s Café, 84 N. Ocean Ave.
According to the Club’s webpage, “Our Vision is to be recognized as a vital community service organization in Cayucos.”
