COVID Gear Stolen

County officials are investigating a burglary where the thieves made off with several boxes of medical supplies needed for the County’s Coronavirus testing site in Nipomo.

According to the County Health Department in an April 9 news release, sometime over the Easter Weekend (April 3-4), someone broke into the County’s COIVID 19 testing facility at the Nipomo Community Center and stole “thousands of dollars’ worth of personal protective equipment [PPE] delivered on Friday, April 2.” The theft was discovered the following Monday, the County said. The testing site was closed over the weekend.

Stolen items included a case of hand sanitizer, several boxes of surgical masks, and a case of N95 masks, gloves, gowns and cleaning or sanitizing items,” according to the County.
