A Los Osos man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a juvenile girl and the Sheriff’s Department is asking the public’s help with the case and possibly others that he may have contacted.
Sheriff’s Spokesman Tony Cipolla said on July 16 Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant at a home in the 2100 block of Fresno St., in Los Osos “as part of a sexual assault investigation.”
Detectives arrested, Wayland Strong lee, 22 of Los Osos on suspicion of rape by force and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, Cipolla said.
“Investigators determined,” Cipolla said, “that Stronglee met the victim through social media before the [alleged] assault.”
No further details of the alleged crime were released and detectives are asking for help with the case.
“Detectives are asking anyone with information related to this case,” Cipolla said, “or anyone who believes they may have had contact with Stronglee under similar circumstances, to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at 805-781-4500.”
Detectives are trying to determine if there are any more victims or witnesses who have not yet come forward, Cipolla said.
He added that the victim in the case has been offered victim advocacy and support services, and the Sheriff’s Office “remains committed to her safety and well-being throughout the investigation.”
The investigation is continuing, he added.
