Paul Joseph “Siggy” Sigmund passed away in Nampa, Idaho, on August 31, 2023, at the age of 67. He was a long-time resident of the Central Coast and grew up in Cayucos with his eight siblings.

Paul was a colorful character, who rejoiced in being stubborn. He loved to laugh and had two volumes, loud and louder. A man ahead of his time, he popularized athleisure wear before it was cool and believed that sweatpants or shorts were fancy enough for any occasion.

He loved sports, especially golf; grilling on his barbecue; and music. Paul was also passionate about environmental conservation, so if you are reading this in the newspaper, please recycle the paper in his honor. Above all else, he adored his daughters Danielle, Regina, and Kristina.

Paul disliked funerals, so instead we will be celebrating his life with a barbecue potluck on October 1, 2023, at the Red Barn at the Los Osos Community Park from 11 am to 2 pm. Please feel free to join us with your favorite dish and story about Siggy.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo (ECOSLO) at https://www.ecoslo.org/donate.
