Kimberly Theresa Kavanagh, 65, of Los Osos, California was born was born in 1955 in North Carolina and died October 17, 2021 at her home in Los Osos
Born Kimberly O’Dell, oldest of seven children to Major Donald and Shirley O’Dell. Kim grew up across the United States in a large military family, eventually landing in Irvine, California for her teen years.
Kim went on to earn a bachelors degree in Journalism at UCSB where she was the editor of the school newspaper, the Daily Nexus. She then pursued a degree in oriental medicine at an acupuncture college in Santa Barbara. She returned to Orange County and opened an acupuncture clinic. It was then that Kim had her only child, Danielle Lindsay Miller. Kim moved to Los Osos in 1989 and started the Holistic Medical Clinic in San Luis Obispo. Kim was a gifted acupuncturist and healed countless people and animals with her knowledge and skills. Kim enjoyed playing soccer, coaching soccer, yoga, meditation, and music in her spare time.
Kim’s selfless care and devotion to her friends, family, and clients defined her, and she was loved by all who knew her. She will be forever missed and remembered for her healing hands and generous heart.
Kim is survived by her daughter Danielle Evans and her son in law Matthew Evans, and her five siblings, William O’Dell, Karen Andersen, Jennifer Leva, Amanda Roach, and Amy Vincent.
